Open Your Textbook: Adopting, Adapting or Creating Your Own Open Textbook
Facilitators: Michelle Schwartz & Ann Ludbrook
Join Michelle Schwartz, Instructional Design & Research Strategist, and Ann Ludbrook, Copyright Librarian, for an introduction to open textbooks. Open textbooks are textbooks licensed under an open copyright license, and made available online to be used freely by students, teachers and members of the public. Learn how to adopt, adapt, and create your own open textbook using Ryerson's new Pressbooks platform and the eCampus Ontario Open Textbook Library. Open textbooks provide instructors with the opportunity to create texts uniquely tailored to their own courses. They also save students money. By the end of this workshop you will have all the tools needed to get started building your own open textbook.
