Project Title: Building Physics modelling |
Project Description:
Healthy nearly zero energy buildings - Building science Handobook writing |
RA Position Duties and Resposibilities
(Include Interaction with Research Team Members, Supervisory Arrangements):
This position is related to the ongoing effort of writing guidelines for “Healthy nearly zero energy buildings”. The proposed research project looks at the compromises between energy-saving systems versus the reduction in the healthiness of the indoor environment. In particular, the interest will be directed towards innovative air conditioning systems based on temperature control set-point and their comparison considering both their efficiency in terms of energy performance and quality of indoor air control. Moreover, the project will also look at innovative building materials. The student will be responsible for working on curating a book that is currently under preparation by the PI and that will have to be published by the end of October (titled “Healthy Nearly Zero Energy Buildings”). The student will be a curator of the book and will be listed as such on the cover of the book too. The expectation is that at least 80% of the work will be done within the Department of Architectural Science. Bi-weekly meetings with the faculty member will ensure that the research goals of this position are met. In adjunct, the student will interact with the two Ph.D. students and the building science lab supervisor. |
